In October of 1998, Congress passed the Year 2000 Information and Readiness Disclosure act. This act is meant to encourage businesses to share information about their Year 2000 (Y2K) status with customers. These statements are made to allow you to plan and operate reliably now and in the future. SMI has every reason to believe that the proper use of our products and documentation will not cause any issues for you.

SMI has completed a review of our software and has determined that all our products will operate correctly well into the next century. However, we cannot test all possible configurations and all prior versions of our software or users systems. Therefore while we believe that no issues will arise from the use of our products into and beyond the year 2000, to be assured of uninterrupted service we recommend that you upgrade to the latest versions of our software.

As all software that runs on a PC, our applications depend on the operating system to provide the proper date and time. You should contact your hardware manufacturer for information about your PC and Y2K issues. Your operating system date formats can also affect our applications. Be sure to set all the operating system default date formats to a 4-digit year.

This statement of compliance does not constitute a warranty and in no event shall SMI Corporation be responsible for any incidental or consequential damage arising from the failure of our software to accurately process date/time data.

This document is a Year 2000 Readiness Disclosure pursuant to the U.S. Year 2000 Information and Readiness Disclosure Act.
